STRENGTH & CONDITIONING Camp: Periodization Training for Optimal Performance is for any young athlete 13-17 yrs of age who is looking to take their physical fitness and athletic performance to new heights. Get stronger, last longer and feel better!

There's a well known saying, "failing to plan, is planning to fail". As an athlete, this is absolutely true related to your time in the gym. The best of the best don't wing it or go "hard" all the time. Yet this is what many young athletes do. 

The best of the best know that you need to know where you want to go first and then know how you're going to get there. From there they develop training plans for Macro cycles (4-6 month), Meso cycles (2-6 weeks) and Micro cycles (daily/weekly) and apply it to both their strength as well as their conditioining. And when you layer in PERIODIZATION TRAINING (which factors in progression of through phases of endurance, base strength, hypertrophy, absolute strength, power/speed and rest), you'll dramatically improve your athletic performance, reduce the risk of over-training and have fewer training related injuries. 

In this 4 day camp designed for young athletes ages 13-17,  you will receive an Introduction to PERIODAZATION TRAINING and each day we'll address one of the elements listed above, applying it to both your strength and cardio workouts. I'll show you how to intentionally adjust reps, sets, tempo, rest and intensity and move your exercise selection from general to specific, isolated to integrated, and slow throughout the phases.

WEEKLY OVERVIEW...

Tuesday June 13: Endurance & Base Strength

Wednesday June 14: Hypertrophy

Thursday June 15: Absolute Strength

Friday June 16: Power/Speed

  • Dates: June 13 - June 16, 2023
  • Time: 1-3 pm
  • Cost: $125 (sign up by June 1 and SAVE $15)
  • Location: Le Jardin Academy, Wang Gymnasium Weight Room (upstairs behind bleachers)
  • What to bring: refillable water bottle, 100% willingness to learn and participate fully (leave your ego at the door!)
  • What to wear: comfortable athletic gear, closed toe athletic shoes (no crocs or slippers).

*About Your Coach, ADAM BREWER, LJA Strength and Conditioning Specialist

Over the 30 years I've been in the fitness/wellness industry, I've had the pleasure and privilege to work with athletes and clients of all abilities from novice to professional, as well as having coached at the high school and Division 1 collegiate level. Over the years I've earned numerous certifications...Strength and Conditioning Specialist, Personal Trainer, Bootcamp Instructor, Yoga Teacher, Meditation and Breathwork Coach. I love it all and hope to share my experience with you.

As for my athletic background, I was a 3 sport athlete in high school, playing soccer, basketball and tennis. In soccer I was Northwest Ohio's 1st-Ever All-American, I scored over 1000 pts in 3 years of Varsity basketball (senior year averaging 23 pts/game), and in tennis I finished 3rd in the state in both singles and doubles. My senior year, I recieved the Best All Around Athlete Award. At the collegiate level, I played both soccer and tennis at Emory University in Atlanta, GA. I was a 4 year starter in soccer, participating in 4 NCAA National Tournaments and in tennis I was nationally ranked as high as #17 in singles and #9 in doubles. My senior year at Emory University, I was awarded the Russell Bridges Award for Best All-Around Male Athlete.
